"Warning Strike" for Hourly Contractors at the Lebanese University

The official committee of hourly contract professors at the Lebanese University convened and issued a statement calling for a "warning strike in all colleges and institutes of the university on next Monday and Tuesday, in protest against the continued disregard for the Lebanese University and the contracted professors' right to the essential approval of the tenure file. This is due to the authority's persistent oppression of them by planning to add a new contractual year after ten years have passed." They called for a "sit-in in front of the central administration in the museum at noon on next Monday, and in front of the government palace at 10:30 a.m. on next Tuesday, coinciding with a cabinet meeting. They concluded by urging "everyone concerned about the future of the university to prevent it from complete collapse by participating in the sit-ins on Monday and Tuesday."
