Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants issued the following statement: "The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants welcomes the announcement by Ireland, Norway, and Spain recognizing the State of Palestine, which is considered an important step contributing to reinforcing the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. This measure helps to initiate a serious and effective political path that leads towards a just and comprehensive solution based on the two-state solution, in accordance with relevant international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative launched at the Beirut Summit in 2002, aimed at building a better future for the Palestinian people and the peoples of our countries. While praising this step and congratulating the State of Palestine on this historic moment, the Ministry appreciates such decisions as a qualitative step, especially in light of Israeli practices and daily violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, and its attempts to implement its expansionist and displacing projects after decades of suffering, pain, destruction, and displacement that the Palestinian people have endured. The Ministry calls on other countries around the world to take the initiative to recognize the State of Palestine and support its request for full membership in the United Nations, as part of efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region."
