At least 15 people have died in Indonesia due to landslides and floods that swept away dozens of homes and damaged roads in the central region of the country, according to the National Disaster Management Agency. Abdul Mahari, a spokesman for the agency, stated in a press release: "The landslides caused by heavy rain occurred in the Luwu area in South Sulawesi at around one in the early hours of Friday." He noted that "a total of 14 citizens died as a result of the floods and landslides in the Luwu area of South Sulawesi." More than 100 homes were severely damaged, and 42 homes were swept away, while four roads and a bridge were affected, according to the same source. Over 100 people have been relocated to mosques or to the homes of relatives, and authorities are attempting to evacuate more than 1,300 affected families.
