Arrest of Suspect in Car Mirror Theft Crimes

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Monday, stating: "As part of the ongoing monitoring by the internal security forces to combat theft crimes throughout Lebanon, and after several incidents involving the theft of 'car mirrors' in various areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, the Information Branch was tasked with taking necessary measures at the sites of these thefts. It was found that two individuals were responsible for these thefts using a motorcycle.

On 17/11/2023, as a result of ongoing intelligence and technical investigations, one of the patrols from the branch managed to arrest one of the suspects in the Hamra area, named: - H. A. R. (born in 1999, Syrian nationality). During the investigation, he confessed to participating with another person in executing five mirror theft operations from cars and selling them in the Shatila area. He also admitted to using drugs.

Therefore, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, this General Directorate is circulating the image of the arrested individual and requests anyone who has fallen victim to his actions to contact the Information Branch - Beirut at the number 307728-01, in preparation for taking the necessary legal actions."
