An international research team from the University of Brittany in France, in collaboration with Moroccan, German, and Spanish universities, has discovered what appears to be the oldest evidence of human footprints in North Africa. The footprints, dating back around 100,000 years, were found on the coast of the city of Larache, facing the Atlantic Ocean, about 90 kilometers south of Tangier. The research indicates that five individuals, including children, teenagers, and adults, left between 80 to 85 footprints heading towards the sea while foraging for food. The research on this discovery took approximately a year and a half, and this study, published in the scientific journal "Nature," is part of a previous two-year scientific project on rockshore dynamics in the Larache area.
