Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adrai announced that they completed an attack on the infrastructure used by Hamas's security apparatus located in the border area between Gaza and Egypt. He stated on the "X" platform: "Fighter jets, attack helicopters, and drones belonging to the Air Force, led by military intelligence and the Southern Command, have destroyed military sites, observation points, weapon depots, and command and control rooms that belong to Hamas's public security apparatus during this week, noting that they are located in the border area between Gaza and Egypt."
Adrai indicated that "Hamas fighters were operating from the sites that were attacked in the Rafah area, which assisted the organization in smuggling operations that posed risks to IDF soldiers working in Gaza and Israeli citizens in general." He confirmed that "targeting this infrastructure harms Hamas's ability to smuggle more weapons into the sector. Hamas's security apparatus exploits its presence and operations to loot the humanitarian resources entering Gaza and to support efforts to smuggle more weapons, in addition to the involvement of elements of these apparatuses in the operations conducted by Hamas against IDF forces in Gaza."
