Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Mohammad Wissam Mortada, issued a decision to include property number /1120/ from the Baakline region in the general inventory of historical buildings, known as "Majass Hotel." The decision states: "No work shall be carried out that may alter the current condition of the mentioned property without prior approval from the Ministry of Culture regarding the intended works and the materials to be used." It is noteworthy that the building dates back to the 1930s and belongs to the style of heritage buildings featuring a central hall and three arches. The name Majass Hotel is associated with official and popular celebrations, and notable political figures, with rooms on various floors bearing their names, such as Emperor Wilhelm II, who visited Lebanon in 1898, Secretary-General of the French High Commission Lagard in 1935, Habib Pasha Al-Saad, the first President of the Lebanese Republic (1934-1936), among others who played significant roles in Lebanese political life.
