Election of a New Council for the Lebanese Press Syndicate

The General Assembly of the Press Syndicate held its session for electing a new council this morning, marking the third electoral call for the assembly. After reciting the legal texts related to the elections in accordance with the syndicate's internal regulations, the following members were elected: Aouni Kakkie, George Soulaj, Bassam Afifi, Ilham Friah, Yasser Akkawi, Philippe Abi Aql, Mohamed Nimer, Hanna Ayoub, Dr. Talal Hatoum, Asaad Maroun, Marsal Nadim, Nadine Samuel, Abdo Shakhtoura, Ali Diab, Fouad Al-Harakah, Thaer Abbas, Jad Haidar, and Wesam Halabi.

The president, Aouni Kakkie, delivered a speech welcoming all colleagues who came to elect a new council for the syndicate as per the law. He also praised the written press, which, despite all the devastating storms it faces, continues to fight to survive and will, God willing, endure.

Following the elections of the General Assembly, the members of the new council moved to the second hall designated for syndicate council meetings, where the council's bureau was elected as follows:

- Aouni Kakkie President

- George Soulaj Vice President

- Talal Hatoum Secretary

- Asaad Maroun Treasurer

The council's bureau includes two advisors for the syndicate:

- George Traboulsi

- Abed al-Nasser Sharara.
