Downing of a Russian Su-25 Aircraft in Eastern Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian forces shot down a Russian Su-25 fighter jet over the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine on Saturday. In his evening video address, he remarked, "It is important for us to remain very focused these days. We give special praise to the fighters of the separate mechanized brigade No. 110 for downing another Russian Su-25 aircraft today in the Donetsk region." Donetsk is one of four Ukrainian regions that Russia claims to have annexed. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated yesterday that Moscow has taken control of 547 square kilometers of territory that it annexed this year.
