Apple is expected to launch its new operating system in June, which may offer numerous features powered by artificial intelligence. The British newspaper "Daily Mail" reported that anyone still using iPhone devices released before 2018, including the SE series and the 8 Plus model or older versions, will be excluded from the new "iOS 18."
It added that these types of iPhone will not be compatible due to the older chips that operate with slower processors and insufficient memory to support high-energy features. Devices will require Apple's "A12 Bionic" chip to be compatible with the iOS 18 update.
The following iPhone models are not compatible with iOS 18:
- iPhone 5S
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- First-generation iPhone SE
The source noted that this year's operating system is expected to be Apple's "biggest update" yet, which may integrate with Google's "AI Gemini," allowing the creation of images and writing articles based on simple requests on iPhone for the first time. Apple is expected to unveil iOS 18 at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), scheduled for June 10-14.
