Portuguese coach José Mourinho has amassed a significant fortune from contracts he did not complete with several major European clubs. His most recent experience was with Italian club Roma, from which he was dismissed during the current 2023-2024 season, as he nears a new opportunity with Turkish club Fenerbahçe.
Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" revealed that the contracts Mourinho signed with various clubs, which he did not see through to the end, have resulted in him collecting approximately 80 million euros. The report stated that Mourinho received 26 million euros after being fired twice, in addition to a sum from Real Madrid following his dismissal, and 19.6 million euros from Manchester United for terminating his contract.
Mourinho also earned 15 million euros from Tottenham, along with an additional 3 million euros from Roma due to his departure over the team's unsatisfactory results this season. The newspaper emphasized that the situation was not Mourinho's fault, as the clubs decided to part ways with him before his contracts ended, and the amounts he received are his rightful entitlements, bringing the total to 80 million euros.
