Minister Condemns Injury of Child Naya: Recklessness of Some Becomes a Crime

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, considered that "success in official exams is a cause for happiness, joy, and exchanging congratulations, and it enhances hope for the future, amidst the closed political horizons." He added: "However, our repeated calls not to fire guns when announcing the results have not been heeded by some, turning joy into a crime that resulted in the severe injury of the child Naya Hanna while she was among her friends in the playground of the Sacred Hearts School in Hadath." Halabi condemned "the recklessness that turned into a heinous crime, expressing our solidarity with the child, her family, and her school, and calling on security and military forces to pursue those who fired shots and bring them before the competent judiciary to serve as a warning to others, and to stop this widespread reckless habit in our society."
