According to reports, the strike targeted a fuel transport tanker, resulting in injuries to the driver. This is not the first time the Israeli army has targeted Baalbek with airstrikes, as it focuses on the infrastructure and military buildings of Hezbollah.
In addition, Israeli warplanes carried out three consecutive airstrikes on the town of Maroun al-Ras after midnight, causing significant damage to property and infrastructure, especially to the electricity and water networks, and damaging homes without causing any human casualties. The Israeli army also launched incendiary bombs after midnight on the mountains of al-Labounah and al-Alam in the western sector, igniting the remaining ancient trees, and civil defense teams worked to extinguish the fire that lasted more than two hours.
By this morning, the Israeli army launched illumination bombs over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line in the districts of Tyre and Bint Jbeil, while drones flew over villages in the south.
