The head of the pharmacists' syndicate, Joe Saloum, has prohibited pharmacists from "promoting any product under threat of pursuit." He issued a statement saying, "In accordance with the laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which prohibit advertising for any pharmacy or promoting any medicinal product, dietary supplement, or medical preparation, and after the recent increase in violations on social media of all kinds, which jeopardizes the image and role of the pharmacist, as well as patient health." The statement concluded: "We urge our dear colleagues to immediately refrain from all forms of advertising and promotion of any product under any circumstances, to close any dedicated pages for that purpose, and to avoid appearing in advertisements or media as pharmacists, under the threat of accountability and pursuit according to the laws governing the practice of pharmacy."
