Death of a War Correspondent in Donetsk

RT channel and Russia Today group editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan reported that correspondent Russell Bentley, who collaborated with the Russian news agency Sputnik, has died in Donetsk. Simonyan wrote on her Telegram channel: "Russell Bentley, known as 'Texas', is a true American, actually from Texas, who died in Donetsk, fighting for us, collaborating with our agency Sputnik... It's awful... May he rest in peace." The American journalist joined the people's forces in Donetsk in 2014, noting that he went to Donbas because he admired the courage and resilience of its people. Bentley had previously spoken about the horrors of the Ukrainian "peacekeeper" position and criticized Washington's support for a Nazi entity that calls for the killing of journalists and civilians opposing the Kyiv regime, calling this support "shameful and brings a sense of disgrace to the U.S. government." He once stated: "Donetsk is my home, and I will live here for the rest of my life."
