Drug Dealer Arrested by Security Forces

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the efforts by the Internal Security Forces to pursue those involved in drug trafficking and promotion in various Lebanese regions and to arrest them, information became available to the Information Branch regarding an unidentified person promoting drugs in the southern suburbs. In response, the specialized units in the branch were tasked with conducting field and inquiry procedures to identify and arrest the suspect. As a result of investigations and searches, they were able to identify him as Y. Sh. (born in 1999, Lebanese).

On March 29, 2024, after careful monitoring and surveillance, a patrol from the Information Branch arrested him in the Bir al-Abed area while he was riding a red 'Haojue' motorcycle, which was seized along with a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, and hashish packed in plastic wraps and envelopes, prepared for distribution. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges of promoting drugs to a large number of customers in the southern suburbs. Legal measures were taken against him, and he, along with the seized items, was referred to the relevant authorities based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
