Islamic Resistance in Iraq: To Expel the Coalition Forces by Force

Following the assassination of the leader Abu Baqar Al-Saadi in Baghdad, the Islamic resistance in Iraq issued a clarifying statement calling for resistance against the coalition forces. The statement said: “What the Islamic resistance has granted the occupation forces today as an opportunity to leave the sacred land, as a lifeline, was not afforded to them yesterday despite their mediations and pleas before their defeat in its entirety in 2011. At that time, the resistance fighters were driving the occupation soldiers towards the fires of hell, turning their bases into ruin and rubble.” The statement added: “The opportunity of the past days has certainly revealed to the Iraqi people, allies, and responsible parties that the occupying enemy does not leave its treachery and betrayal and does not understand anything other than the language of weapons. This became evident in its recent targeting of the Hashed Al-Shaabi fighters in Al-Qaem, Al-Akashat, and other locations. This crime was exacerbated by the assassination of the great leader Abu Baqar Al-Saadi in Baghdad, thereby violating all rules of engagement, which further strengthens the Islamic resistance and its factions in their commitment to their responsibilities toward their people, their country, and their nation under any circumstances. While we hope that those we trust will excuse us, as we are more aware than others of the malice of our enemy, the fields of confrontation, and the mechanisms to subdue it through painful strikes and extensive attacks, forcing it to submit and face defeat in service of our people's interests and our nation's issues, we call upon our brothers in jihad to join the ranks of the resistance and to prepare themselves for effective participation in expelling the occupation during this historic phase for Iraq and the region.”
