Upcoming Visit of Putin to North Korea

Ivan Zhilukhovtsev, Director of the First Asian Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, indicated that "Moscow and Pyongyang are agreeing through diplomatic channels on the timing of President Vladimir Putin's visit to North Korea." The diplomat added, "As you know, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un invited the Russian president to visit Pyongyang during the summit held at the Vostochny Spaceport in September 2023." Zhilukhovtsev noted that this invitation was reiterated during the recent visit of North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui to Russia. The Russian diplomat confirmed that specific dates for the visit would be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
