Civil Defense Announces Death of One of Its Members in Previous Airstrike

The Lebanese Civil Defense announced the death of one of its members due to injuries sustained from an Israeli airstrike on the town of Khyam in southern Lebanon last March. The Civil Defense Directorate wrote in a post on its account on the "X" platform: "The General Directorate of Civil Defense mourns the operational employee Moussa Abdul Karim Al-Moussawi from the Khyam regional center, who passed away on 05-04-2024, affected by injuries from an Israeli airstrike targeting Khyam."

It added, "His body will be prayed upon at 15:00 on Saturday, 2024/04/06, at the Nabi Sheet Husseiniya, where he will be buried in the town's cemetery."

The statement continued, "Here is a brief about his life: Operational employee Moussa Abdul Karim Al-Moussawi, born on 01-05-1977 in Marjayoun, served as a volunteer since 03-04-2000 until he was appointed to the permanent staff as an employee on 24-08-2023. He received several commendations from the Minister of Interior and Municipalities."

The directorate concluded: "He received multiple commendations from the Director General of Civil Defense, attended various training courses domestically, participated in numerous missions, and was an exemplary employee serving the nation and its citizens. Family status: married with three children."
