Haaretz: Israel has Become Ostracized and Accused of Genocide Due to its Extreme Government

The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz," in its editorial, asserted that Israel has become ostracized and accused of genocide due to its extreme government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Under the title "Leave," the newspaper indicated that "Netanyahu has driven Israel to the brink," and he has "failed miserably on every possible front." It highlighted that "nearly six months have passed since October 7, and the captives remain with Hamas, in despair over the government's abandonment of them."

It noted that "the war is also stalled," explaining that despite six months of conflict, with the number of fatalities in Gaza exceeding 32,000 according to the Gaza Health Ministry, "rockets were again fired this week at Ashdod and Sderot." The newspaper added that "at the same time, 60,000 Israelis have been evacuated from their homes in the north, as Hezbollah fires rockets at Israel." Nevertheless, in the Israeli Knesset, there is apparent indifference regarding the situation of the evacuated individuals, who are shamelessly absent from sessions concerning their affairs.

The newspaper continued: "Led by an extreme government, its members openly talk about transfer and another Nakba, rejoicing in the scenes of destruction and humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, while completely refusing to discuss the day after or the end of the war." Haaretz added, "Israel has become ostracized, accused of genocide, and is subject to weapon bans."

It pointed out that "despite all this, the Haredim insist on continuing to evade service in the Israeli army." It concluded that "this government must end its course before it's too late," asserting that "the public must take to the streets, demand the return of the captives, stop the war, and go to elections."
