Trump Considers Ukraine Part of Russia

The Wall Street Journal reported that former U.S. President Donald Trump referred to Ukraine as "part of Russia" in conversations with European leaders. The newspaper noted that Trump has often complained in the past about Washington's support for Kyiv. It added, citing American officials, that Trump regarded Ukraine in his discussions with European leaders as "their Ukraine" and "part of Russia." The Guardian quoted Fiona Hill, former senior director for Russia on the National Security Council at the White House, stating that Trump believed during his time in office that Ukraine should be part of Russia. The former U.S. president has repeatedly claimed that he could end the conflict in Ukraine by pressuring the Kyiv regime to cede Crimea and Donbas to Russia.
