Nine people have died, and more than 100 others were injured in an explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Thailand on Saturday. Narathiwat Governor Sanan Phongaksorn told Reuters that the fireworks exploded and ignited a fire at an unlicensed warehouse in the Mono market in the Sungai Kolok district of the southern province bordering Malaysia. He added, "There are now nine dead, but there may be more as unidentified human remains were found." Sanan explained that about 115 people were injured and taken to hospitals, noting that 106 of them have returned home. He indicated that the explosion damaged more than 200 homes surrounding the warehouse, affecting 365 people, and that between 20 and 30 families have moved to shelters. He stated that "the fire is under control and the police will thoroughly investigate the cause again."
