Matar: We Discussed Lebanon's Gray Classification in Washington

MP Ihab Matar clarified that "as part of the delegation's tour to New York, we met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Asia and the Middle East, Jesse Baker." He added via the "X" platform: "We discussed Lebanon's gray classification, returning to the reasons behind this classification due to the Lebanese state's failure to respond to international community demands and its lack of necessary reforms. We also touched on the 'cash economy' and the 'black market.'" He continued: "We emphasized the necessity of maintaining communication to reach an understanding with the International Monetary Fund, as the solution for Lebanon will come through it, and we cannot reach any solution without an agreement with the Fund."
