A man, his son, and several relatives were involved in the murder of his daughter, days after the release of individuals accused of attempting to rape her a year ago in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region. Nazeh Farhad (the mother of the murdered girl) stated, "This morning around 7:00, my daughter (Fairuz) was killed by her father and brother along with several other people inside our home located in the (Darto) area in Erbil." She added that "the incident occurred after my daughter was subjected to an attempted rape and was thrown from the top of residential apartments last year, where two suspects were arrested in this case."
The mother of the victim continued: "However, after they were released three days ago, her father threatened that he would kill her, and he killed her today with seven gunshots to her head while she was asleep in her room, explaining that 'the murder suspects arrived in two cars and there were seven people, including her father (Azad), her brother (Karim), and several of her father's relatives.'"
In November of last year, 22-year-old Fairuz was assaulted by being thrown from the fifth floor of residential apartments in the center of Erbil after an attempt to rape her by two individuals famous on the app TikTok, who were arrested by security forces at that time.
