The Lebanon Women’s Rugby Union team achieved a single victory in the group stage of the fourth Arab Women’s Rugby Union Championship (Sevens), hosted in Taif, Saudi Arabia. Lebanon's sole win came on the first day of the tournament against the Libya Women’s team, with a score of 41-0. However, the Lebanon team lost to the UAE women’s team with a score of 29-0 and to the Egypt women’s team with a score of 32-5. The Lebanon team will play against the host country’s women’s team tomorrow, hoping for a second win that would qualify them to continue competing for the fifth place.
On another note, the head of the delegation, Secretary of the Lebanese Rugby Union, Abdullah Al-Jamal, represented the Lebanese Union in the general assembly of the Arab Rugby Union, which took place before the start of the tournament. The assembly discussed the development of the sport in the countries within the Arab Union and confirmed the holding of the tenth edition of the men's championship and the fifth edition for women in 2025 in the Arab Republic of Egypt. A committee was formed to oversee the tournament, tasked with early preparations for organizing the championship in 2025 and 2026.
