The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "as part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat the issue of drug trafficking in various Lebanese regions, information was received by the Information Branch regarding an unknown individual involved in drug dealing in the al-Lailaki area and its surroundings in the southern suburb. As a result, the specialized units of the branch began their field and investigative procedures to uncover the identity of the suspect and arrest him.
As a result of extensive investigations and surveillance, the branch was able to identify the suspect, a person named B.S. (born in 2003, Syrian). On February 8, 2024, after careful observation, one of the branch patrols arrested him in the act in the area of al-Mirjeh while he was riding a black "Sweit" motorcycle, which was also seized. During the search of him and the motorcycle, the following items were confiscated:
- 35 envelopes of hashish.
- 59 envelopes of marijuana.
- 5 plastic containers containing cocaine.
- A sum of money and a mobile phone.
During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding drug trafficking to several customers in the al-Lailaki area and its surroundings, using the motorcycle he was arrested on. The necessary legal actions were taken against him, and he and the seized items were handed over to the relevant authority, based on the directives of the competent judiciary."
