Clarification from the President of the Koura Municipalities Union

The President of the Koura Municipalities Union, Rabi' Ayoub, issued a statement today, Saturday, to clarify a news item being circulated in official and private media outlets and social media. The report claimed that residents of the Oasis complex in the Dahr El-Koura area began evacuating the complex in compliance with a decision from the General Security apparatus. He clarified that the accurate information is that the North Governor, Judge Ramzi Nachra, issued a circular numbered 746 on 13/5/2024, requesting members of the Internal Security Forces and State Security to evacuate the Oasis complex and the adjacent camp for Syrian displaced persons in the town. This request was made based on circulars issued by the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, as well as decisions made by him regarding the organization of the Syrian presence, and also included actions from the Dahr Municipality. The circular specified the evacuation of the oasis and the camp and provided a deadline starting from the date of its issuance until the morning of next Monday, May 20, 2024. Therefore, this clarification was necessary.
