"Forbes": Salah Among the Highest Earning Athletes in the World

Egyptian national team star and Liverpool player Mohamed Salah has maintained his notable presence on the list of the world's highest-earning athletes, with annual earnings of $53 million, unchanged from last year's earnings. According to Forbes' annual list, this income is estimated before taxes and agent fees for the top 50 highest-earning athletes worldwide in the 12 months leading up to May 1, 2024, based on discussions with numerous industry insiders.

Mohamed Salah earned $35 million from on-field activities, including prize money, salaries, and bonuses, and $18 million from endorsements, appearances, and other business ventures. Although Salah's income has not changed from last year, he is now the seventh highest-paid football player, directly following Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, 23, who earned $61 million.

Overall, Salah ranks 38th on the list of the highest-earning athletes in the world, having fallen 10 spots compared to last year's ranking. Therefore, Mohamed Salah remains the only Egyptian and Arab athlete included in Forbes' annual list of the highest-earning athletes in the world, as well as being Liverpool's highest earner.
