Local media reported that at least 4 people have died in Mexico after a theater collapsed during an election event. The local newspaper "Reforma" stated that at least 4 people died and others were injured Wednesday evening in the state of Nuevo León in northern Mexico, after the theater collapsed during an event for the Citizens’ Movement party.
Presidential candidate for the party, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, mentioned that a strong wind storm caused the collapse during the event held in San Pedro Garza García, a wealthy area near the industrial center of Monterrey.
Nuevo León Governor Samuel García urged residents to stay home, warning of strong thunderstorms in the area, citing the incident.
