The spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, stated today that "the United States expects Israel to agree to a ceasefire agreement in Gaza if Hamas agrees to it." Kirby said in an interview on ABC: "This was an Israeli proposal. We expect that if Hamas agrees to the proposal—as it has been relayed to them... then Israel will say yes to it."
