YouTube Deletes Iranian Account for This Reason

"You are not available," is the message YouTube displays when you access the Iranian Foreign Ministry's account. The popular video platform deleted the Iranian ministry's official channel today, Tuesday, after it published a video supporting the Hamas movement. This action came shortly after the release of a video in English titled: "Resistance is the Only Way for Palestine," according to the TASS news agency. The deleted video stated that "the international community has not shown real strength and true will to stop the growth of illegal settlements and the genocide perpetrated by Israel in Palestine for 75 years." It also indicated that "the Palestinian people and Hamas found the only right path to fight the oppressor, which is to resist the occupier and punish them," seemingly in praise of the attack on October 7. Many social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, have also recently deleted videos, comments, or images they considered "supportive of Hamas, and thus inciting violence and hatred," or interpreted as anti-Semitic.
