The official website of the Egyptian Presidency has published a video of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcoming the candidates for the 2024 presidential elections on Tuesday at the Ittihadiya Palace. The candidates include Hazem Omar, the head of the People's Republican Party; Fared Zahran, the head of the Egyptian Democratic Social Party; and Abdel-Send Yamama, the head of the Wafd Party, with the attendance of the president's campaign manager, Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the meeting was characterized by the President's warm welcome to the candidates, highlighting his appreciation for their political performance during the electoral process, which enriches the plurality and diversity of the Egyptian political and democratic scene. He noted that the true success for all of Egypt is represented in the unprecedented high levels of citizen participation in the elections, reflecting the awareness of the great Egyptian people of their national responsibility.
For their part, the presidential candidates were keen to congratulate the President, praising the success of the electoral process and the massive participation of citizens in the elections, aligning with the supreme national interest. They expressed their sincere wishes for the President's success in achieving the interests of the nation, which is the ultimate goal of all national political factions, especially during this critical time the region is facing significant challenges.
