Reports have indicated that French striker Kylian Mbappé reached an agreement last summer with the president of Paris Saint-Germain, Qatari Nasser Al-Khelaifi, regarding his waiver of the "loyalty" bonus in the event of a transfer. Recent reports have stated that Real Madrid has moved to secure Mbappé's agreement to join them next season for free, giving him a deadline until mid-this month to respond with either acceptance or rejection.
Mbappé confirmed in a press statement after winning the French Super Cup against Toulouse 2-0 last Wednesday, that there is an agreement with Nasser Al-Khelaifi concerning his future, and he has not made a final decision yet.
The network "Monte Carlo" reported that the financial agreement is worth 80 million euros, which Mbappé would receive should the third-year option in his current contract be activated. The network explained: "If the player decides not to renew, it means forgoing that amount, and his comments after winning the French Super Cup were an attempt to appease Al-Khelaifi."
"Monte Carlo" confirmed that Mbappé informed the Parisian management that they would be the first to know his final decision, whether to stay or leave at the end of his contract next summer.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a summer transfer expert, also confirmed that Mbappé agreed with his club last summer to waive a bonus of between 75 to 80 million euros. He added that there is no decision regarding Mbappé leaving the "Parc des Princes" stadium; if the player leaves, it will be in the upcoming summer after his contract ends. Should the Frenchman depart next summer, he will not receive the loyalty bonus of 80 million euros, as agreed with Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
