The UAE's Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, affirmed on Saturday that "the UAE, under the directives of its President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is working to support the Palestinian brothers and provide humanitarian assistance to them. The UAE will remain committed to collaborating with all concerned international parties to ensure that relief support reaches the affected civilians in Gaza through various means, including activating the maritime corridor, which is considered a lifeline for the people of Gaza to deliver aid to those in desperate need, especially in northern Gaza, and to serve as a complementary route to the existing land crossings."
During her participation in the ministerial conference on the humanitarian maritime corridor for the Gaza Strip held in Cyprus, she clarified that "the UAE has made a historic precedent by sending the first ship carrying 200 tons of food aid in collaboration with World Central Kitchen to northern Gaza, and will continue to enhance these humanitarian efforts to ensure that assistance reaches effectively and equitably."
She also stated that "resolving this crisis requires a long-term ceasefire, a concrete plan to resume political dialogue, and achieving a two-state solution with the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state." According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), "the UAE, under the guidance of its wise leadership, continues its humanitarian efforts to assist the Palestinian brothers in Gaza, launching humanitarian initiatives including the Falcon 3 operation, through which it has provided over 25,000 tons of relief, humanitarian, food, and medical assistance by sending three ships, 216 aircraft, and moving nearly 1,000 trucks."
She added: "This also includes establishing a field hospital in Gaza and a floating hospital in the Egyptian city of Al-Arish, and receiving hundreds of medical cases for treatment in the country's hospitals based on an initiative launched by the UAE President to treat 1,000 injured children from Gaza and 1,000 cancer patients, as well as providing potable water through desalination plants that supply 1.2 million gallons daily."
