The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior and the spokesperson for the Security Media Cell in Iraq, Muqdad Al-Moussawi, revealed today, Friday, the final tally of the security operation in the Al-Bataween area east of the capital Baghdad. Al-Moussawi stated that "the final tally of the security operation in the Al-Bataween area has reached 608 suspects, including foreigners of Asian nationalities," noting that "the operation was planned to last three days." He pointed out that "the continued deployment of military units in the area is part of the special plan devised by the Ministry of Interior for Al-Bataween." Last Thursday, the Ministry of Interior announced the launch of a security operation in the Al-Bataween area in Baghdad to apprehend those violating residency conditions, those trafficking in drugs, human trafficking gangs, and prostitution rings, as well as to enforce security and uphold the law. This operation is accompanied by a wide-ranging service campaign that includes opening several streets to restore life to this historic area.
