Under the threat of disciplinary action, the Bar Association in Beirut requested its members today, Friday, to refrain from using the TikTok application due to its violation of the provisions of the law regulating the profession and the code of ethics and conduct for lawyers, which requires lawyers to conduct themselves in a manner that inspires trust and respect in all their dealings. The association's decision came in light of the recent "TikTokers" case that shook Lebanon, where a gang used the application to lure children of Lebanese and Syrian nationalities, including minors, to blackmail and entice them into sex and exploitation, in exchange for very minimal incentives.
