On Friday, firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out in agricultural and forest lands in the village of Al-Roumyieh in the countryside of Latakia, western Syria, leaving behind 7 dunams of burned land. Jaafar Dawood, the director of civil defense in Latakia province, reported that the fire in Al-Roumyieh was put out in collaboration with the fire brigade and forestry personnel, noting that the relevant authorities have initiated investigations to determine the causes of the fire. Dawood indicated that "the damage is estimated at around 7 dunams, distributed among agricultural lands of citrus and olive trees and forest trees," confirming that "with the cooperation of the tripartite firefighting system, the flames at the site were extinguished and it entered the cooling phase."
