Dozens of youths attacked a police station in La Courneuve, a suburb north of Paris, with firecrackers and Molotov cocktails following the death of a young man who was struck by a police car during a pursuit, according to "Russia Today." The newspaper Le Parisien reported that four days after the death of the young man named Wanys, aged 18, the La Courneuve police station was targeted with projectiles and fireworks. It noted that "nine people were arrested and detained by the police." The police stated in a report: "Nine individuals were arrested on charges of participating in a group with the intent to prepare for violence, throwing projectiles, and launching mortars towards the police station, as well as committing acts of intentional violence during a gathering against police officers."
