Emirates Airlines clarified today, Wednesday, that one of its planes landed safely in Mumbai late Monday after colliding with a flock of flamingos shortly before touching down on the runway, resulting in damage to the aircraft and the death of several birds. The Times of India reported that the aircraft, a Boeing 777, was on a flight from Dubai to Mumbai and struck the flock at an altitude of about 300 meters, leading to the death of 39 birds. The statement added, "The plane landed safely, and all passengers and crew disembarked without injuries; however, sadly, several flamingos have died. Emirates is cooperating with the authorities regarding this matter."
