Cyber Attack on TikTok

The TikTok network announced that a cyber attack affected prominent accounts on the social media platform, including the account of the American news network CNN. A spokesperson for the company stated that the number of affected accounts is "extremely low," noting that TikTok has strengthened its defenses to thwart the cyber intrusion by information hackers. CNN had alerted the social network about the attack, which targeted accounts of several major brands and celebrities, while the news site Semafor was the first to report last week that the account of the American media had been hacked, forcing it to suspend its TikTok account for days.
