The Brazilian Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, who hosted the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting on Thursday, stated that participants nearly unanimously support the two-state solution as the only way to achieve peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. At the conclusion of the two-day meeting, Minister Vieira said, "There was actually a consensus on the two-state solution as the only resolution to the conflict." He noted that all members of the group, which includes the world's largest economies, emphasized concerns about the war in Gaza and the risk of the conflict expanding in the Middle East. He mentioned that there were calls for a ceasefire and the allowance of humanitarian aid into Gaza, while "many" countries criticized the Israeli military attack in Rafah. The meeting, which outlined the G20 agenda led by Brazil this year, discussed the current global tensions, focusing primarily on fighting in both Gaza and Ukraine.
