The Maritime Agents Syndicate in Lebanon, led by Marwan Al-Yamen, emphasized today, Thursday, in a statement the need for a professional approach when discussing the regulation or correction of any irregularities in port operations. It noted that smuggling operations are the subject of ongoing international efforts to combat, and they continue to occur in various forms and methods despite the implementation of strict standards and the use of advanced equipment. The syndicate highlighted that "combating smuggling is a national interest" and praised the efforts of the customs and security agencies involved in maintaining order and public good, despite limited resources and pressing circumstances. It also affirmed the vital economic and national role of the Port of Tripoli.
