Information Stops the Perpetrator of the Al-Bayyad Crime - Tyre

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces stated in a report that "on 17-5-2024 in front of the mosque in the town of Al-Bayyad in Tyre, an argument occurred between citizens: - Sh. B. (born in 1961), and - A. F. (born in 1959), regarding the parking of the first's car in front of the mosque. The situation escalated when (Sh. B.) fired a Kalashnikov rifle at (A. F.), resulting in his injury. He was subsequently transferred to the hospital, where he soon died from his wounds, and the shooter fled to an unknown location. The media and social media circulated news of the crime, raising suspicion and anxiety among citizens. Immediately, orders were given to locate and arrest the killer. On the same date, information branch patrols set up checkpoints and ambushes on the possible escape routes, successfully capturing him in coordination with the Mountain Lebanon Investigation Unit near the Awali Bridge while he was fleeing towards Beirut in his car. The Kalashnikov rifle used in the crime was confiscated. Upon questioning, he confessed to the charges against him. Legal measures were taken against him, and the investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
