Riyadh Affirms Support for Jordan in Maintaining Its Security and Stability

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is also the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, made a phone call on Thursday to Jordan's King Abdullah II, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency "SPA". During the call, the Saudi Crown Prince expressed "the Kingdom's support for the measures taken by the Jordanian government to maintain the security and stability of Jordan," emphasizing "the Kingdom's solidarity with brotherly Jordan in these circumstances." For his part, King Abdullah II expressed "appreciation for the Kingdom's supportive stance towards Jordan's security and stability."

In turn, the Jordanian news agency "Petra" reported that King Abdullah II received a phone call on Thursday from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The call discussed "the strong historical relations that bind the two countries and their brotherly peoples, as well as the overall developments in the region, particularly the tragic situation in Gaza." Petra added that the Jordanian monarch expressed to the Saudi Crown Prince "his pride in the level of Jordanian-Saudi relations, and the keenness to strengthen them in all fields." The Jordanian King reiterated the "necessity of finding a political horizon for the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution, which ensures the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital."
