Cairo Hosts Meeting of Arab Finance Ministers Council

The Arab Monetary Fund is organizing the 15th regular session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, next Wednesday, as part of the annual joint meetings of Arab financial bodies, chaired by the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nadia Fettah.

Along with the finance ministers from Arab countries, the meeting will also be attended by observers from the Arab League, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, and Arab executive directors from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Turki, the Director General and Chairman of the Board of the Arab Monetary Fund, stated that the meeting is an opportunity to discuss the challenges faced by financial policy makers in the Arab region amid regional and international economic and financial developments. He praised the efforts of Arab countries regarding public finance reforms and their importance for achieving financial sustainability and supporting opportunities for comprehensive and sustainable growth in a complex economic environment.
