In a remarkable statistic, Brazilian star Neymar leads the list of players with the highest chance creation rate in his team Al-Hilal, despite being absent since the eighth round of the league. Neymar has been missing from the Saudi team since October 2023 after suffering a cruciate ligament injury that prematurely ended his season while participating in a match for the Brazil national team against Uruguay in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Before his injury, Neymar had played only three matches in the Roshan Saudi League after signing with Al-Hilal at the beginning of the current season, during which he created nine chances, two of which were converted into goals by his teammates. Neymar's chance creation rate at Al-Hilal stands at three chances per match, surpassing his teammate, Portuguese Ruben Neves, who has an average of 2.03 (Neves created 61 chances). Interestingly, Neymar also leads in chance creation among players in the Saudi League, trailing only Spanish player Alvaro Medran (92 chances with an average of 3.17 chances per match) on a list of 388 players.
Neymar's chance creation rate outperformed notable players like Algerian Riyad Mahrez, the star of Al-Ahli (91 chances with an average of 2.93 chances per match). It is noteworthy that Neymar began his initial treatment phases in Brazil and later returned to his club Al-Hilal last February to continue his rehabilitation program, remaining close to the team that recently won the Saudi league title.
