General Security Detains Two Officers After Drug Trafficker's Escape

Information obtained by "Al-Akhbar" indicates that the Director General of General Security, Major General Elias Bechara, suspended two officers from the department two days ago, as part of the investigation into the escape of a prisoner from the Al-Abad prison, which is under General Security. According to sources, the escaped prisoner, a Syrian drug trafficker, claimed that he paid an amount of $250,000 to facilitate his escape. The escape was not revealed until the prisoner reached Turkey a few days ago.
