Qatar: Doha Negotiations on Gaza "Ongoing"

Qatar: Doha Negotiations on Gaza

The official spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, indicated today, Tuesday, that the Doha talks regarding Gaza are still ongoing among the parties at the technical teams level, with no timeline for the negotiations. Al-Ansari stated: "We are in a state of continuous hope, and we continue with our partners in mediation efforts, but it is not possible to talk now about a specific timetable for the negotiations." He added, "There are on-ground difficulties related to the negotiations, but meetings are ongoing... No team has withdrawn from the Doha negotiations, and it is normal for negotiating delegations to return to their capitals for consultations... but the negotiations have not stopped."

The spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry welcomed the Security Council's decision calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan, expressing hope that the Security Council's resolution would positively reflect on the ceasefire negotiations. Furthermore, Al-Ansari emphasized that the water corridor to the Gaza Strip is not a substitute for delivering aid by land to the enclave, confirming that there is no alternative to the "UNRWA," not only in Gaza but in all areas where the agency operates.
