Yesterday, a shipment of weapons heading from the north to Beirut was accidentally discovered. Following a fire that broke out in a transportation truck on the Batroun highway near the power station, while firefighting teams from civil defense were putting out the fire, it became evident that the truck was carrying weapons. Security and military teams promptly arrived at the scene, established a security cordon, and began investigations to take necessary measures. Information from "Nidaa Al-Watan" indicated that investigations revealed that the truck, driven by a Syrian, was part of a convoy consisting of 6 trucks that had set off from the port of Tripoli as part of a smuggling operation and was carrying small arms, which had been packaged professionally to avoid detection. Authorities are currently searching for and pursuing a Lebanese individual believed to be key in the operation, with army intelligence continuing their investigations to identify the entity behind the source of the weapons and their intended destination.
