Public Works and Transport Minister Ali Hamieh, in the caretaker government, held an extensive meeting at the ministry today, Tuesday, with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the Council for Development and Reconstruction, Meas Company, and Dar Al-Handasah. The discussion focused on various procedures being taken and worked on at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, particularly concerning the measures implemented by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation to improve, develop, and modernize airport services. They also discussed various aspects related to the maintenance of different airport facilities.
Hamieh emphasized that "the necessary equipment for the airport, for which funding is currently being secured, is a priority for us, in addition to continuing maintenance of its various facilities." He stressed the necessity of joint efforts on these two fronts by the responsible parties to ensure the continuity of the quality of services provided and to work on improving and developing them, in alignment with our vision for this important facility and in accordance with global standards practiced at various international airports.
Hamieh also received MP Jihad Al-Samad and discussed the issues of road maintenance and the management of landslides in the Qadaa of Dhour El Choueir. He confirmed during the meeting that "directives had been given to all concerned parties and teams tasked with inspecting the roads in the Dhour El Choueir area, as well as certain landslides on some roads in the district," adding that "maintenance work on the roads will commence successively in various Lebanese regions, including Dhour El Choueir, based on priorities and utilizing all available resources to complete this work."
